BLOOMINGTON (HEART OF ILLINOIS ABC) - Gunshots were fired Friday on Bloomington’s west side, but police say no one was wounded.

Police were called just before noon to the 900 block of West Front Street after receiving “multiple” calls about gunfire in the neighborhood, said Police Lt. Clayton Arnold.

There was also no property damage, based on early reports, said Lt. Arnold.

The lieutenant said police were able to confirm there was a shooting, based on evidence at the scene. He said there was “more than one and fewer than 10″ shots fired there, and he would not reveal how many shell casings were found.

There have been no arrests, and police did not immediately have suspect information.

There’s no known ongoing threat to public safety in the neighborhood, Lt. Arnold said.

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call Bloomington Police at 309-820-8888.
