Illini, Bradley, Illinois State all pick up home wins
(Heart of Illinois ABC) - Ever since losing to No. 8 Arizona last weekend, Illini basketball has been licking their chops to get back on the court and go for a bounce-back win. They bounced back and then some on Saturday afternoon with a dominant 106-48 win over St. Francis (PA).
Kofi Cockburn led the way for the Orange & Blue with 21 points and 11 rebounds but the real story of the game came from behind the arc for the Illini. Illinois knocked down a program-record 18 three-pointers in the win over the Red Flash and also shared the ball incredibly well, piling up 21 assists on the night.
Bradley also got back to work after a long layoff on Saturday. In their first game in 11 days, the Braves picked up a 74-70 win over St. Joe’s. Ja’Shon Henry led the way with 18 points.
Meanwhile, Illinois State rolled to a dominant win over Ball State in an 85-64 effort. Josiah Strong led the way with 23 points.
