Big nights from Frazier and Plummer not enough to upset No. 11 Arizona

CHAMPAIGN (Heart of Illinois ABC) - Despite 52 combined points from guards Trent Frazier and Alfonso Plummer, Illinois had its five-game winning streak snapped by No. 11 Arizona 83-79.

Only four players scored in the Illini’s loss to the Wildcats. Frazier led the way with a season-high 27 points to go along with 5 steals, Plummer added in 25 points. While Kofi Cockburn notched a double-double with 13 points and 13 rebounds, plus Jacob Grandison scored 14 points off the bench. All other players were a combined 0-9 from the field.

Next up for Illinois is a tune-up game against Saint Francis (PA) at the State Farm Center on Dec. 18, before the annual Braggin’Rights game against Missouri on Dec. 22 in St. Louis.
