IOWA CITY, IA (Heart of Illinois ABC) - Going into the night, not a single player on the Illinois basketball roster had won a road game at Iowa. That changed on Monday as the Illini topped the Hawkeyes 87-83 in Iowa City. The orange and blue sustained multiple gut punches in the form of big Iowa runs but stayed the course to come out with the win thanks to a balanced scoring attack. Four different players hit double figures for the Illini with Alfonso Plummer and Jacob Grandison leading the way with 21 points each. It was Plummer’s fifth straight game with 20 or more points. Meanwhile, Trent Frazier added 18 while Kofi Cockburn dominated inside to the tune of a 17-point, 18-rebound double-double.

The Illini now get a nice break to prepare for No. 11 Arizona on Saturday at State Farm Center.
