(Heart of Illinois ABC) - Both Bradley and Illinois State won thrilling conference openers on Wednesday night, but on Saturday it was back to non-conference play for the Braves and the Redbirds.

At Carver Arena, a balanced scoring attack led Bradley to an 80-55 win over SIU Edwardsville. Terry Roberts led the way with 17 points while Jayson Kent (13) and Ja’Shon Henry (11) also hit double figures for the Braves.

It was not as nice of a return to the non-conference slate for Illinois State. The Redbirds dropped their Saturday matinee 61-55 to Jackson State. Antonio Reeves scored a team-high 14 points in the loss.
